Recently, our Apriem Cares team dedicated an afternoon to one of our philanthropic partners, Working Wardrobes.
We volunteered stuffing Payday Pails to support VetNet, a program that provides career training services for veterans through the Working Wardrobes Career Services Network. VetNet is a safety net for veterans focused on transitioning at-risk veterans into the civilian workforce, and it is highly effective, helping 80 percent of the homeless veterans it serves become gainfully employed.
A Payday Pail is a gift basket filled with essential everyday items delivered to veteran clients who have secured employment. The gift congratulates them on their accomplishment and sets them up for continued victories as they begin their new job.
Our team filled pails with toiletries, gift cards, mints and other items to be wrapped and delivered. It is the least we can do for the special heroes who served our country.
Working Wardrobes is a nonprofit organization that empowers men, women, young adults and veterans overcoming difficult challenges to confidently enter the workforce and achieve success. It does this by providing many services, including career assessments, skills training, job placement assistance and – as its namesake indicates – professional wardrobes. The goal is to enhance dignity and respect through employment.
